Audio / Video Introduction
Digital audio and video is carried between the players and amplifiers in data packet pulses. It is very important that the wire that carries any digital data, is of high quality and grade. And the sound to the speakers should be sent on a heavy gauge multi strand oxygen free copper or copper clad aluminum wire. Sound is sent to the speakers as electrical current.
Current travels only on the surface of each strand of wire, and not through the inside of a wire strand. More strands of wire means more current carried to the speaker. And it does not matter if the wire is all copper or copper clad on aluminum. The current travels only on the surface, and the surface of both wire types are 100% copper. The current will not see any difference between them. The only difference is the copper clad on aluminum will be a lot less expensive because it has a lot less copper content.
